03 / HOW WE PREPARE FOR THE EXAM

Two skills.
A strategy for each.

We work on comprehension, vocabulary in context and time management. Reviewed practice helps you understand mistakes and decide what to focus on in the next session.

Listening

Practise understanding photographs, question–response tasks, conversations and talks. Work on anticipating information and listening for details at the pace of the recording.

45 minutes · 100 questions

Reading

Practise incomplete sentences, text completion and reading comprehension. Learn to locate information, connect documents and manage your time without getting stuck.

75 minutes · 100 questions

Each section is scored from 5 to 495, giving a total of 10–990. This test does not assess speaking or writing. If you need evidence of all four skills, check the Speaking & Writing requirements too.

06 / BEFORE YOU START

Good questions.
Clear answers.

What you need to know about your course, fees, scores and official test registration.

How much does TOEIC preparation in Madrid cost?

Four-week courses cost €315 for 16 hours, €450 for 24 hours or €580 for 40 hours. A 20-hour intensive over two weeks costs €325, and private lessons cost €40 per hour. Materials are included and there is no enrolment fee. Check timetables and availability with the school.

Can I prepare for TOEIC in live online classes?

Yes. You can enquire about classroom preparation in Argüelles and live online lessons. Include your availability when contacting us so we can confirm a suitable group or course format.

What English level do I need to start?

ETS does not require a minimum English level to take TOEIC. When choosing preparation, your current level and the gap to your target score matter. The school offers a free level assessment to help guide that choice.

How is TOEIC Listening & Reading different from a four-skills assessment?

Listening & Reading assesses receptive skills. Speaking & Writing assesses productive skills through separate tests. If you need all four skills, confirm the full requirement before booking preparation or an exam.

How many questions are in TOEIC Listening & Reading, and how long does it take?

There are 200 multiple-choice questions: 100 Listening questions in 45 minutes and 100 Reading questions in 75 minutes. Testing takes two hours. ETS advises allowing two and a half to three hours for the full session, including administration.

What TOEIC scores correspond to B2 or C1?

ETS recommends at least 400 in Listening and 385 in Reading for B2; for C1, the respective thresholds are 490 and 455. These are skill-specific guidelines, so the total alone is not enough to interpret both skills. Check the minimum scores required by the receiving institution.

Will my employer, university or Spanish public selection process accept TOEIC?

That depends on its current requirements. Check whether TOEIC is accepted, which test is needed, the skills assessed, minimum scores and permitted age of the result. Share those requirements when enquiring so we can focus your preparation appropriately.

How long are TOEIC results valid?

ETS can validate results for up to two years after the test and recommends that organisations consider them valid for that period. Also check the receiving organisation’s rules on how recent your result must be.

Does the two-week intensive guarantee my target score?

No. Two weeks is the length of the 20-hour intensive course, not a guaranteed timeframe for reaching a score. Results depend on your starting level, target and practice. We review those factors before recommending a course.

How do I enrol and book the official test?

Enquire with your preferred course, availability and target. The school will confirm available places and the steps to enrol. Enrolling in preparation does not reserve an official test: confirm the session, fee and registration with the official provider.
