03 / HOW WE PREPARE FOR THE EXAM

Three areas.
A connected approach.

The current GRE General Test takes approximately 1 hour and 58 minutes. Its three components comprise five timed sections. Understanding the format helps you make practice purposeful.

Verbal Reasoning

Practise reading, vocabulary in context and the interpretation of arguments. Learn to identify relevant information and justify your answers without relying on word-for-word translation.

27 questions · 41 minutes

Quantitative Reasoning

Work on arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis. Strengthen your understanding of question wording and choose an efficient approach before calculating.

27 questions · 47 minutes

Analytical Writing

Prepare for Analyze an Issue: a reasoned response with a clear position, relevant examples and coherent structure. Practise planning and reviewing within the time available.

1 task · 30 minutes

Verbal and Quant each have two sections and adapt at section level: performance in the first influences the difficulty of the second. Within a section you can mark questions, review them and change answers. Writing comes first.

  1. Establish your starting pointReview your level, programme requirements and application deadline. Choose a preparation schedule you can sustain.
  2. Work on your prioritiesCombine subject knowledge, strategy and timed tasks. Reviewing mistakes helps you identify whether to improve the concept, reasoning process or time management.
  3. Assess your progressMock tests show how you respond to the full format. Use that information to adjust your priorities and decide on the next step.

04 / UNDERSTANDING YOUR RESULT

06 / BEFORE YOU START

Good questions.
Clear answers.

What you need to know about your course, fees, scores and official test registration.

How much does GRE preparation in Madrid cost?

Monthly courses cost €420 for 16 hours, €540 for 24 hours, €750 for 40 hours and €1,320 for 80 hours. The two-week intensive provides 20 hours for €480, and private lessons cost €48 per hour. Official materials are included and there is no enrolment fee. Check schedules and availability.

Can I prepare for GRE online or in person?

Yes. Ask about classes at our school in Argüelles, Calle Alberto Aguilera 36, Madrid, or live online preparation. Share your availability so we can confirm a suitable group or individual timetable.

Which GRE do I need for a master’s, MBA or PhD?

Check the requirements of the programme you intend to apply to. It may require, accept or not request GRE, and policies can change. This page offers GRE General Test preparation; GRE Subject Tests are different tests.

How long is the GRE General Test and what does it assess?

It takes approximately 1 hour and 58 minutes. It assesses verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing across five sections: one Writing section, two Verbal sections and two Quant sections.

How does the adaptive GRE work?

Verbal and Quant adapt at section level. In each component, your performance in the first section influences the difficulty of the second. You can review and change answers within your current section. Preparation combines accuracy with time management.

What GRE score do I need for admission?

No score guarantees admission. Each programme sets its own requirements and considers your application as a whole. Review Verbal, Quant and Writing separately, and share your programme’s criteria when asking about your course.

How long will I need to prepare for GRE?

That depends on your starting level, target and available study time inside and outside class. A free level assessment helps guide the plan. The two-week intensive describes a course length, not a guarantee that you will reach your target within that time.

When will my scores arrive and how long can I use them?

ETS states that official scores are available in your account 8–10 days after the test and remain reportable for five years from the test date. Check whether your programme requires more recent results and allow time before the application deadline.

What is included, and can I pay in instalments?

The published courses include official materials and have no enrolment fee. The school advertises group discounts and an instalment option; ask about the conditions before confirming your course. Confirm official test registration and fees separately.

How do I enrol and book the official test?

Enquire with your availability, goal and intended test date. The school will confirm places and the steps to enrol. Booking preparation does not register you for the test: check the official ETS options and conditions for your test appointment.
